The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections everyday for those who like to stream starting pitchers in their fantasy leagues. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who have a decent track record vs their opponent.
Before I get to Thursday's streamers, here is how my selections for Tuesday's games fared:
Josh Beckett vs Diamondbacks - 6 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, L
Roberto Hernandez vs Blue Jays - 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K
Kyle Kendrick vs Giants - 7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, W
Combined stats: 19 P, 20 H, 6 ER, 3 BB, 18 K, 2.84 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, W, L
Here are my streamer selections for Thursday's games:
John Lackey vs Twins
Lackey is probably not owned in too many leagues right now, but he gets the Twins at home on Thursday. In 15 career starts vs the Twins, Lackey is 7-5 with a 3.68 ERA and 1.247 WHIP.
Bartolo Colon vs Indians
Colon is owned in just 13.8% of ESPN leagues, and goes on the road to face the Indians on Thursday. Colon is 6-3 with a 3.28 ERA and 1.136 WHIP in 10 career starts vs the Indians.
Jason Vargas vs Astros
Vargas is owned in 15.7% of ESPN leagues, and is fresh off a complete game 3 hit shutout of the Orioles last week. Tonight, he faces the Astros at Minute Maid Park, where he has made just one career start with a 5.40 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. I am recommending Vargas as I see him over his early season struggles, as evidenced by his last two starts, where he has pitched 17 innings and given up just 2 earned runs on 9 hits.
