The Streamer Report: Wednesday's Starting Pitcher Targets

Ray Guilfoyle offers his streaming starting pitcher selections for Wednesday's games.

Jason O. Watson

The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections everyday for those who like to stream starting pitchers in their fantasy leagues. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who have a decent track record vs their opponent.

Before I get to Wednesday's streamers, here is how my selections for Monday's games fared:

Bronson Arroyo vs Braves - 5 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7K, L

Andrew Cashner vs Marlins - 7.1 IP, 4 H, O ER, 3 BB, 4 K, W

Scott Feldman vs Rangers - 7 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, BB, 3 K, W

Combined stats: 19.1 IP, 14 H, 4 ER, 6 BB, 14 K, 2 W, L, 1.88 ERA, 1.05 WHIP

Here are my streamer selections for Wednesday's games:

Jake Westbrook vs Cubs

Westbrook is owned in 34.6% of ESPN leagues, and the only reason could be that fantasy owners think the wheels will start coming off the Westbrook train. Westbrook has been outstanding so far in 2013, giving up one run or less in four of his five starts. He is 2-1 with a 1.07 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 33.2 innings.

Ricky Nolasco vs Padres

Nolasco is owned in just 1.8% of ESPN, mainly because he pitches for the Marlins, but he gets the Padres in Petco Park on Wednesday night. In 5 career starts at Petco, Nolasco is 4-1 with a 2.27 ERA and 0.813 WHIP.

Barry Zito vs Phillies

Zito is owned in 46.5% of ESPN leagues and gets to face the Phillies at home on Wednesday night. The Phillies rank 24th in the majors in runs scored with 119 runs in 33 games, and according to ESPN have scored just 26 runs in 23 games vs left handed starters. Zito has given up one run or less in five of his six starts this season.

Chris Tillman vs Royals

Tillman faces the Orioles at home on Wednesday night, owning a 3.63 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in his six starts this season. Over those six starts, he has given up two runs or less in four of them.
