The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections everyday for those who like to stream starting pitchers in their fantasy leagues. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who have a decent track record vs their opponent.
Before I get to Sunday's streamers, here is how my selections for Friday's games fared:
Ricky Nolasco vs Phillies - 6 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, BB, 4 K, 3 HR, L
J.A. Happ vs Mariners - pitched on Thursday, and pitched horribly
Jason Vargas vs Orioles - 9 IP, 3 H, O ER, 2 BB, 3 K, W
Combined stats: 15 IP, 11 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 7 K, W, L, 2.40 ERA, 0.93 WHIP
Now for my streaming choices for Sunday:
Dan Straily vs Yankees
Straily has made just two starts this season, and has not fare well in the ERA category, but owns a 1.15 WHIP and an excellent 17-1 strikeout to walk rate in just 11.1 innings. In his only road start of the season, he held the Astros to 2 runs in 6.2 innings, striking out 11 and walking none.
Wandy Rodriguez vs Nationals
Wandy is owned in 38.8% of ESPN leagues, and faces a struggling Nationals lineup, dealing with a slumping Adam Laroche and an injured Jayson Werth. Wandy is 5-2 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 10 career starts vs the Nationals. He is even better pitching at PNC Park, as he owns a sub-.500 record, but with a 3.73 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 19 career starts there.
Jose Quintana vs Royals
Quintana is owned in 26.6% of ESPN leagues, and currently owns a 2-0 record, with a 3.58 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 5 starts this season. He has given up 2 runs or less in three of his five starts this season.
