Note: My apologies for not getting this out sooner. I had started this report earlier this morning, but was interrupted with the job of cleaning up water from a leaking pipe in my basement.
The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections for the fantasy owner who likes to stream starting pitchers in leagues with no innings cap. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either have a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a good matchup.
Before I get into Friday's streaming pitcher selections, here is how my selections for Wedneday's games performed:
Kevin Slowey vs Phillies - 5 IP, 6 H, ER, BB, 6 K, L
Ubaldo Jimenez vs Tigers - 4 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, L
Combined stats: 9 IP, 13 H, 7 ER, 4 BB, 9 K, 2 L, 7.00 ERA, 1.70 WHIP
Here are my streamer picks for Friday's MLB games:
Brandon McCarthy vs Padres
McCarthy is owned in 44.7% of ESPN leagues and has tossed 17 straight shutout innings over his last two starts, so I am going to ride the hot streak.
Chris Tillman vs Blue Jays
Tillman has pitched very well this season, going 3-2 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. He faces the Blue Jays on the road on Friday, but the road has been kind to him. In his three road starts this season, he has given up just four earned runs on 16 hits in 19.1 innings. Tillman has given up 3 runs or less in seven of his 9 starts this season, and will look to increase that streak in Toronto.
John Lackey vs Indians
Other than his May 14th start where he gave up runs to the Rays, Lackey has been effective in his five other starts this season, where he has given up three runs or less. Lackey faces the Indians at Fenway Park on Friday night looking to build on his last start vs the Twins where he gave up one unearned run in six innings.
Bronson Arroyo vs Cubs
Arroyo is owned in 23.1% of ESPN leagues, and faces the Cubs at home on Friday night. He has held opponents to 3 runs or less in 6 of his 9 starts thus far in 2013. In 28 career appearances vs the Cubs, he is 11-9 with a 2.99 ERA and 1.148 WHIP. Arroyo is pitching well of late, as he has not given up a run over his last two starts.
