The Streamer Report: Thursday's Starting Pitcher Targets

Ray Guilfoyle offers his streaming pitcher selections for Thursday's games.

Jonathan Daniel

The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections for the fantasy owner who likes to stream starting pitchers in leagues with no innings cap. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either have a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a good matchup.

Before I get to Thursday's streamer picks, here is a look at how my picks fared on Tuesday night:

Corey Kluber vs Tigers - 6.1 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 8 K, L

Jon Niese vs Reds - 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 7 K, L

Bud Norris vs Royals - 6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

Combined stats: 18.1 IP, 16 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 17 K, 2 L, 1.49 ERA, 1.16 WHIP

There are only five games on Thursday, but here are a few streamer selections for you:

Rick Porcello vs Twins

Porcello is owned in just 4.4% of ESPN leagues right now, but I have a feeling that may change soon. You see, if you take out his terrible April 14th start vs the Angels, where he gave up 9 runs in just 0.2 innings, his ERA would sit at 3.88. Following suit, if you remove the 10 base runners from that start, his WHIP falls from 1.32 to 1.08. So, the one start is masking a pretty decent season for Porcello, as he has given up three runs or less in five of his seven starts this season.

Edwin Jackson vs Pirates

Jackson is owned in just 23.9% of ESPN leagues currently, and faces off against the Pirates in a Businessperson's Special at PNC Park on Thursday. Jackson owns a 4-1 record, with a 3.01 ERA and 1.214 WHIP in 7 career starts vs the Buccos. In four career starts at PNC, Jackson is 1-1 with a 3.20 ERA and a 0.947 WHIP.
