The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections for the fantasy owner who likes to stream starting pitchers in leagues with no innings cap. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either have a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a good matchup.
Before I get into Wednesday's streaming pitcher selections, here is how my selections for Monday's games performed:
Julio Teheran vs Twins - 8.1 IP, 5 H, ER, BB, 4 K, W
Jason Marquis vs Cardinals - 6 IP, 3 H, ER, 4 BB, 3 K, W
Combined stats: 14.1 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 7 K, 2 W, 1.28 ERA, 0.922 WHIP
Here are my streamer selections for Wednesday's MLB match ups:
Kevin Slowey vs Phillies
Slowey has gotten knocked around in his last two starts, but gets a struggling Phillies lineup that will be without Ryan Howard. The Phillies rank 27th in runs scored this season, and have been worse in May, where they rank 29th in runs scored, scoring 57 runs in 18 games. Slowey pitched well vs the Phillies back on May 5th, where he threw seven shutout innings. Slowey will look to rebound pitching in the friendly confines of Marlins Park.
Ubaldo Jimenez vs Tigers
Jimenez is owned in 36.8% of ESPN leagues, and gets to face the solid Tigers lineup on Wednesday night. Jimenez has pitched well of late, definitely non-Jimenez like, giving up 2 runs or less in each of his last four starts. What is different about Jimenez this season? His walk rate is down from 4.84 BB/9 to 4.20 BB/9, and his strikeout rate is way up, from 7.28 K/9 to 9.74 K/9.
