The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections for the fantasy owner who likes to stream starting pitchers in leagues with no innings cap. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either have a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a good matchup.
Before I get into Saturday's streaming pitcher selections, here is how my selections for Thursday's games performed:
Jose Fernandez vs Reds - 7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
Jhoulys Chacin vs Giants - 5.1 IP, 9 H, 8 ER, 2 BB, 2K, L
Edison Volquez vs Nationals - 5 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, 7 K, L
Combined stats: 18.1 IP, 19 H, 15 ER, 9 BB, 14 K, 2 L, 7.46 ERA, 1.547 WHIP
The results of the Streamer Report have not been good over the last week or so, so I am going to limit my picks for a week or so.
Here are my streaming picks for Saturday's games:
Bronson Arroyo vs Phillies
Arroyo is owned in just 7.3% of ESPN leagues and will face the Phillies lineup which ranks 26th in runs scored this season. In his lone start vs the Phillies in 2012, Arroyo went 8 strong innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits for the win.
Brandon McCarthy vs Marlins
Yeah, it is easy to go against the worst run scoring team in baseball, but hey, I need all the help I can get. McCarthy had a solid outing in his last start, shutting out the Phillies for 8 innings, giving up just 7 hits, walking none and striking out 5. He is better than he has shown this season, and he should be able to continue his return to form vs the Marlins on Saturday.
