As if his season wasn't going bad already, Rays ace starter David Price left his start tonight with an injury. Here is a tweet from Ray's beat writer Marc Topkin, from the Tampa Bay Times, regarding the injury:
#Rays says it is left triceps tightness for Price

I assume Price will need a DL stint, but we should learn more as the night goes on.
Price was just 1-3 with a 5.24 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and a HR/9 (1.37) that is almost double his HR/9 from 2012. Earlier this offseason, there was some discussion/rumors about when, not if, the Rays would deal Price before he becomes a free agent. The prevailing thought is that the team will not be able to sign him long term. This injury could change the timing of any trade involving Price.
Fantasy owners will struggle to replace the talent of Price, but then again, he has not pitched up to his potential to this point in the season.
