The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections everyday for those who like to stream starting pitchers in their fantasy leagues. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who have a decent track record vs their opponent.
Before I get to Saturday's streamers, here is how my selections for Thursday's games fared:
Kevin Slowey vs Dodgers - 4 IP, 11 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, O K, L
Jose Quintana vs Angels - 6 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 5 K, L
Jarrod Parker vs Mariners - 6.1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, W
Combined stats: 16.1 IP, 19 H, 10 ER, 8 BB, 10 K, W, 2 L, 5.59 ERA, 1.677 WHIP
Here are Monday's streamer starting pitcher selections:
Travis Wood vs Rockies
Wood is owned in 49.3% of ESPN leagues, and is facing a Rockles team that struggled to score runs in St. Louis this weekend. Wood has pitched great this season, giving up 3 runs or less in all seven starts thus far. In three career appearances vs the Rockies, he owns a 2.77 ERA and 1.15 WHIP.
Joe Blanton vs Royals
Blanton is owned in just 0.1% of ESPN leagues, and will face a Royals team at home on Monday night. He has pitched better of late, giving up just 8 earned runs in his last three starts, covering 20.2 innings of work.
Marco Estrada vs Pirates
Yeah, this is a risky pick, but Estrada has given up 11 home runs in 38.2 innings this season, and that won't continue. He should benefit from pitching in the pitcher friendly PNC Park, which is reducing home runs by 35% this season. PNC Park ranks 27th in home runs allowed this season.
