The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections everyday for those who like to stream starting pitchers in their fantasy leagues. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who have a decent track record vs their opponent.
Before I get to Sunday's streamers, here is how my selections for Friday's games fared:
Jose Fernandez vs Dodgers -6 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7K, W
Phil Hughes vs Royals - 5.2 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Jason Hammel vs Twins - 4 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
Combined stats: 15.2 IP, 23 H, 15 ER, 6 BB, 16 K, W, 8.88 ERA, 1.91 WHIP.....YIKES.
Here are my streamer selections for Sunday's matchups, and I hope they can fare much better than Friday's selections did:
Zach McAllister vs Tigers
McAllister is owned in just 6.8% of ESPN leagues, and I am not sure why. He has given up 3 runs or less, and gone at least 5 innings, in each of his six starts this season. He is 3-3 with a 2,.63 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP and a 28-10 K-BB rate in 37.2 innings.
Roberto Hernandez vs Padres
I rolled with Hernandez last week and he put up a solid line, giving up just one run in 6 innings vs the Blue Jays. On Sunday, he faces a Padres team who struck out 18 times on Friday night, and Hernandez is average more than a strikeout per inning thus far in 2013.
Scott Diamond vs Orioles
Diamond is owned in just 2.4% of ESPN leagues, and faces the hot Orioles lineup on Sunday. Diamond has pitched very well to this point, with a 3.03 ERA and 1.15 WHIP on his ledger. Diamond won his only career start vs the Orioles, but owns a career 3.78 ERA and 1.278 WHIP in 19 career starts at Target Field.
