The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections everyday for those who like to stream starting pitchers in their fantasy leagues. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who have a decent track record vs their opponent.
Before I get to Wednesday's streamers, here is how my selections for Monday's games fared:
Ted Lilly vs Rockies - 3 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, L
Jose Fernandez vs Mets - 4 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
Wade Davis vs Indians - 4.2 IP, 12 H, 8 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, L
Combined stat: 11.2 IP, 23 H, 14 ER, 8 BB, 9 K, 2 L, 11.25 ERA, 2.77 WHIP
OUCH!
Here are my streamer selections for Wednesday, and hopefully they are much better than Monday's streamer selections:
Dillon Gee vs Indians
Gee is owned in less than 1% of ESPN leagues, but that number should rise, especially with him facing the Marlins in Marlins Park. Gee has struggled this season, going 1-4 with a 5.96 ERA and 1.50 WHIP, but I think he is a better pitcher than he has shown, and should fare well on Wednesday.
Josh Beckett vs Rockies
Beckett is owned in 38.7% of ESPN leagues, and will be home to face the Rockies on Wednesday. In 8 career starts vs the Rockies, he is 5-2 with a 3.75 ERA and 1.438 WHIP. Beckett pitches more to contact now, so he gives up more hits than you may want to stomach.
David Phelps vs Astros
Phelps makes his first start of the season for the Yankees, and gets the Astros lineup that strikes out almost 10 times per game. In his last appearance vs Toronto, he struck out 9 in 4 innings of work.
Make sure you check out the Streamer Sweet Spot, published by Brian Creagh, where he identifies teams that have trouble scoring runs and strike out a lot. You can find his article here.
Reminder: feel free to ask questions here or in the Roto Roundup, whether they relate to streamer decisions, trade offers, keeper questions, etc.
