The Streamer Report: Tuesday's Starting Pitcher Targets

Ray Guilfoyle offers his streaming starting pitcher selections for Tuesday's games.

Mike Ehrmann

The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections everyday for those who like to stream starting pitchers in their fantasy leagues. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who have a decent track record vs their opponent.

Before I get to Tuesday's streamers, here is how my selections for Sunday's games fared:

Carlos Villanueva vs Marlins - 6 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 8 K, L

Bartolo Colon vs Orioles - 6 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 3 K,

Ricky Nolasco vs Cubs - 7 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, W

Phil Hughes vs Blue Jays - 6 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 9 K

Combined stats: 25 IP, 24 H, 14 ER, 6 BB, 22 K, W, L, 5.04 ERA, 1.20 WHIP

Here are my streamer selections for Tuesday's games:

Kevin Slowey vs Mets

Slowey is just 0-1 this season, but has pitched much better than his record indicates, as his ERA sits at 2.43 and his WHIP at 1.15. He has giving up 2 runs or less in four of his five starts thus far, and will look to keep that going vs the Mets on Tuesday.

Jose Quintana vs Rangers

Quintana has quietly been very effective for the White Sox this season, going 2-0 with a 2.78 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in four starts this season. Quintana has made just one career start vs the Rangers, holding the Rangers to one run on 2 hits, a walk and striking out 9 in 8 innings of work.

Brandon Mauer vs Orioles

Maurer has gotten over his early season jitters and has pitched well in his last three starts. After giving up 12 runs in his first 6.2 innings, Maurer has given up just 4 in his last 19 innings, covering his last three starts.

Make sure you check out the Streamer Sweet Spot, published by Brian Creagh, where he identifies teams that have trouble scoring runs and strike out a lot. You can find his article here.
