Every other Wednedsay, I will be taking a quick look at some of the top prospects at the Low-A level, including their stats for for the season, and if anything stands out about the performance. The season stats may not always tell us the whole story, but there are usually also some updates on how they are doing these things as opposed to just the numbers themselves. All statistics are courtesy of MILB.com, and are through the games of Monday, 4/22/13.

- Brandon Nimmo is starting to put it together, showing the tools that made him the 13th overall pick back in 2011. Mike Newman of Fangraphs and Rotoscouting wrote up a profile on Nimmo last week after seeing him in person against Rome, and he could vault into top 100 lists if he can keep this up.
- There were two players requested to be profiled when I asked for names last week, and so this week I will take an in-depth look at Rangers' OF Lewis Brinson. Next week will be the conversion project that has been crushing baseballs in West Virginia, Stetson Allie.
- Carlos Tocci is one of the youngest players in the South Atlantic League, and it is showing a bit at this point. John Sickels wrote up a brief profile about Tocci on Monday, which is worth checking out.
- Jesse Winker was a bit of a surprise draft pick at the end of the Fake Teams Dynasty League minor league draft this year, but looks more and more like it could be a great late rounder. The league plays walks in addition to the standard five hitting categories, and it's becoming pretty clear that Winker knows how to take a walk. I'm very interested to see if he can keep this up for the full season.
- Clint Coulter has the potential to be an interesting prospect for fantasy owners, with the huge caveat about his defense. Nick Faleris of Baseball Prospectus wrote him up as a part of Monday's Ten Pack ($).

- Rafael De Paula has been getting a ton of play on Twitter, and why not when he is approaching nearly 18 K/9. I'll be looking for some video of his outings so far, and see if the numbers tell us the true story.
- Gregorio's numbers jumped off the page, with a 23:1 K/BB ratio and just 12 hits allowed. The 0.32 GO/AO ratio isn't exactly what you'd hope to see, but I'll be interested to see if he can keep up the rest of the numbers, and frankly how he is doing it.
- I have to imagine that based on the numbers so far, Ismael Guillon could be heading back to extended spring training at some point in the near future. Some of the game lines he has had so far have been unreal: 3.1 IP, 1 H, 4 ER, 9 BB, 5 K against Lake County on the 17th, 1.2 IP, 2 H, 6 ER, 6 BB, 3 K against Lansing on the 22nd. Good grief.
- Another interesting name to watch this season is C.J. Edwards, who was a 48th round pick in the 2011 draft, and who has a 1.46 GO/AO ratio to go with his 22:5 K/BB rate.
