The Streamer Reports provides you with some streaming starting pitching options for Wednesday's MLB games. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues.
Before getting to Wednesday's action, I want to review how my streaming picks worked out on Monday, and the results were not pretty.
1. Chad Billingsley vs Padres - 6 IP, 7 hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, L
2. Joe Blanton at Minnesota - 4.2 IP, 9 hits, 4 ER, BB, 4 K, L (dropping off his bandwagon)
3. Erik Bedard at Oakland - 0.2 IP, 2 hits, 6 ER, 4 BB, K, L (UGH!!)
Wednesday's selections:
1. Ross Detwiler vs Marlins
Detwiler faces a bad Marlins team that could be without Giancarlo Stanton once again. Detwiler is 2-0 with a 2.38 ERA and 1.235 WHIP in 6 career appearances ( 3 starts) vs the Marlins.
2. Bud Norris vs Athletics
The A's are without there best power hitter, Yoenis Cespedes, and Norris is facing them for just the second time in his career. In his lone start vs the A's, he went 5.2 innings, giving up 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 earned runs, and struck out 4.
3. Carlos Villanueva vs Rangers
Villanueva has pitched well this season, and faces a Rangers team struggling to score runs, as they have scored 49 in 13 games, which ranks 19th out of 30 clubs. In 8 career appearances vs the Rangers, Villanueva is 1-1 with a 3.16 ERA and 1.208 WHIP.
