The Streamer Report: Thursday's Starting Pitcher Targets

Ray Guilfoyle ranks some starting pitchers that you may want to grab off of your league waiver wire for a spot start on Thursday.

This report identifies some starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues that you may want to grab off of your league waiver wire/free agent pool for a spot start on your roster today.

Before I get to today's selections, here is how my picks fared on Wednesday:

Barry Zito: Win

Ivan Nova: game postponed

Eric Stults: Loss

This brings the season win-loss record to 2-3-2 (W-L-ND)

Here are my streamer selections for Thursday's games. There are only 8 games on the schedule, so there will only be two selections for today.

1. Jason Vargas vs Oakland

Vargas owns a 5-5 record vs. the A's with a 3.13 ERA and a 0.989 WHIP in 13 career starts vs the A's. He is even better pitching in Angels Stadium, where in 6 career starts there, he is 3-1 with a 2.27 ERA, yet with a slightly higher WHIP of 1.099.

2. Jason Marquis vs LA Dodgers

Marquis is a career .500 pitcher, but for some reason he has pitched well vs the Dodgers over his 13 year career. He owns a 6-4 record with a 2.58 ERA and 1.081 WHIP in 14 career starts vs the Dodgers. He will face Zack Greinke.
