I'm going to be away from home this weekend, so no stats for this Sunday's Minor League Level Review. At this point in the season, we're starting to see more and more players getting the call to the Majors from the two AAA leagues, and we should see even more as we go forward. I've included a percentage for each player of how likely I believe they are to be called up by the All-Star break. (Pure guesses on my part, by the way.)
Pacific Coast League
Anthony Rizzo (CHC)
It really just seems to be a matter of time as to when the Cubs will figure out a way to get him to the Majors. I'm not really sure what is left for him to prove down at AAA, as he has been crushing everything thrown to him at this point. Callup Likelihood: 40%
Wil Myers (KC)
Myers was only called up to AAA about 2 weeks ago, but in 13 games thus far he has an OPS of 1.011 and 3 home runs to his name at the level. As we progress through the season, I wonder if the Royals will try to trade Jeff Francoeur to clear space for Myers. Callup Likelihood: 15%
Brad Peacock (OAK)
The A's sent struggling starting pitcher Tyson Ross down to the minors on Thursday, and it sounds like the spot in the rotation will go back to Brandon McCarthy when he is activated from the disabled list on Saturday. That said, Peacock has pitched well, and could be the first in line to return from Sacramento to take another rotation spot. Callup Likelihood: 30%
Trevor Bauer (ARI)
Bauer has been extremely impressive in his AAA starts thus far, with 24 strikeouts against 10 walks in just 19 innings so far. If he hasn't been yet, it is time to stash him for a call-up, as he should be up sometime during the second half of the season. Callup Likelihood: 70%
Travis d'Arnaud (TOR)
Craig wrote about d'Arnaud on Thursday, and it seems likely at this point that he will spend the majority of the season down in AAA. Even though J.P. Arencibia is not great for batting average, he continues to put up excellent power numbers, especially for a catcher. Look for d'Arnaud to take over in 2013. Callup Likelihood: 5%
International League
Matt Harvey (NYM)
Harvey has pitched better recently, but his Achilles' heel continues to be inconsistency with regard to walks. He will have a good game (less than 2), followed by a high walk game (4 in his last start). I also anticipate that he will be joined by Zach Wheeler in Buffalo very soon as well. Callup Likelihood: <1%
Julio Teheran (ATL)
It probably wasn't the greatest sign for Teheran's prospects to get back to Atlanta soon that the team sent Kris Medlen back to AAA in order to stretch him out for the rotation. At this point, he seems very likely to spend the whole season down in AAA. Callup Likelihood: <5%
Jacob Turner (DET)
Turner has made 4 starts in AAA so far this year, and the numbers haven't exactly been awe-inspiring to this point. In 23 innings pitched, he's struck out just 16 and walked 12. Callup Likelihood: 10%
