2012 Fantasy Baseball Head-to-Head Points League Rankings: Top 300

As it's prone to do, life got in the way of my scheduled "Write About Fantasy Baseball" time and this Top 300 list is a wee bit behind schedule. And by "wee" ... I mean a lot. I'm sorry about that.

Anyways ...

Here are links for my Top 20, Top 100 and a master list of my position-by-position rankings.

I'm sure each and everyone of you at this point have spent countless hours memorizing and analyzing my position rankings and profiles word for word. Assuming that's the case, you'll notice that some players have moved up the ranks since January when those posts were written while others have dropped as a result. That doesn't mean those rankings aren't still useful. Afterall, a profile accompanies each player in them, which I don't provide in this list.

Here are some players I'm more excited about now than I was in January:

Adam Wainwright, Matt Moore, Jesus Montero, Joe Mauer, Mark Trumbo, Brett Myers, Javy Guerra, Marco Scutaro, Zack Cozart, Mat Gamel and more.

The Top 300 is fairly pitcher friendly as you'll come to find, considering it includes non-roto studs such as Chris Capuano, Bruce Chen, Josh Collmenter and so on. But, as I've said before, in a points league, "pitching = points" and while none of those names are sexy, they should/could provide points this season.

You'll also notice that I'm not too keen on catchers with most being near the bottom of the list. In my opinion, if you miss out on Carlos Santana, Mike Napoli or Matt Wieters or don't take the chance on say Joe Mauer or Jesus Montero, well, then I just wouldn't worry about the position at all. There's a chance there will be a serviceable catcher or two that goes undrafted in your league so to use anything other than a last round pick seems wasteful to me.

Disclaimer time ...

This list, like any Top (insert # here) list, is certainly up for debate. I'm confident that for H2H points leagues my Top 20 is spot on or darn close to it. I also feel pretty good about my Top 100 but the further and further down the rabbit hole you go the more the rankings become a matter of preference rather than solid, stone-cold projections. So, if you just love Brian McCann, which it seems like a lot of people around here do, and you think 119 is blasphemy regardless of the scoring format, then by all means grab him earlier. I won't be mad at you. If you think Frank Francisco saves more games than Ryan Madson, then snatch him up. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Top 300 list after the jump.
