Hey all, I'm in Glendale, AZ to take in some Spring Training games and figured it might be fun to post some (OK, a lot) of the pictures from my time here. Click below the jump if you want a lighthearted look at my first day in AZ, where I caught a Dodgers/Royals game. There are a lot of pictures, but it's really only about 5% of the full amount taken...so consider yourself lucky. I am considering doing this for each of the games I attend, so let me know what you think. Enjoy...
Ah yes. That's where we are.
And so begins many pictures of players walking past us... (James Loney)
First Bison sighting of the day! (Matt Kemp)
Tony Gwynn making an NFL style entrance...
Here for four games and this is likely the most we'll see of Kershaw
I know what you're thinking...the least Juan Uribe could do is sign some autographs...and so it will be done. He won't do much else this year.
GUYS! GUYS LOOK! HE'S RUNNING! Savor it while you can. (Still Uribe)
For those wondering how Guerra has succeeded while lacking elite pitches...It's all in the eyes.
Even AJ Ellis is weirded out by Javy's eyes.
Got Josh Lindblom to laugh while discussing the NCAA tournament. He accused me of pulling for St. Mary's (He's a Purdue alum)
If you want an autograph at Spring Training...bring one of these. Quite useful.
See! Look at her! Kids are like homing beacons for autographs. If you want a signature you need to beg, borrow or steal a child to get it.
Dee Gordon is actually only as big as this photo.
Don Newcombe as still the effing man. Pulling. It. Off.
It's a scoreboard. I don't know what else I can tell you.
Camelback Ranch from the centerfield entrance
See? I told you we were at Camelback Ranch.
Hall of Famer George Brett and some clown in a tank top.
Mike Brito (who signed Fernando Valenzuela) walks on by... We've nicknamed him "Burrito"
(Matt Kemp)
Silent...but deadly. (Matt Kemp)
The Dodgers make Dee Gordon eat constantly. It's not working.
You're starting battery. That's right. We haven't even gotten to the game. You're regretting reading this already. Carry on though.
More autographs! Yes. There were children nearby. (Jerry Sands)
(Tim Federowicz)
Matt Kemp was oh-so-close to us. Yet oh-so-far. This is totally the last Kemp photo. I promise.
I told you they were playing the Royals! I swear the game will start soon. I swear. (Eric Hosmer)
This is NOT the last Hosmer photo.
BASEBALL! THE ACTUAL GAME! (Billingsley)
Dee Gordon is defining the phrase "on your toes" in this photo (background)
Followthrough (Billingsley)
(Hosmer)
If you just subtract the "s" from his name, it spells "Homer." Probably a good sign for Royals fans. He went 2/3 with 4 rbi in this game.
(Dee Gordon)
Yes. He goes from attempting to bunt to being on 2nd base. It happens that fast. (Dee Gordon)
There is no bat. (Kemp) PS - I lied. There's totally more Matt Kemp. I can't believe you thought I was serious.
Something Dodger fans will see daily, nightly, and ever-so-rightly. Juan Rivera flailing weakly at a bad pitch.
I cannot even guess what Dee Gordon is doing right now. Probably eating some snacks the Dodgers snuck in his glove. It's still not working.
Danny Duffy pitches mean. You'll see.
See!? Intimidation at work. (Duffy)
That is some crazy pronation. (Duffy)
Duff-man gets a lot of pictures...OH YEAH!
(Andre Ethier)
Guys. They made Todd Coffey hit. He got an RBI. It was really confusing.
This is purely for comparison's sake. Look at Todd Coffey. Then look at Dee Gordon. I think Todd has been stealing all of Dee's Dodger mandated snacks.
(Alex Gordon)
(Alex Gordon, Todd Coffey)
Told you there'd be more Kemp! Joakim Soria tried to decapitate him here.
Scouts of a feather clock together
We're almost at the end guys. Promise. Like, for realsies. (Greg Golson, Tim Federowicz)
Wanted to include a pic of Kelvin Herrera. Dude throws serious heat.
Fin.
