Fantasy Hockey 2011 - Pickups of the Week

Lars Eller had a pretty rough first year in Montreal, but after a 4 goal night last week it all seems forgotten. The next game he didn't get a single point, but what is considerable is the 20 minutes he played while still centering the third line. Ride the hot streak out.

Cody Hodgson is heating up in Vancouver it's a shame he is only averaging 12 minutes a game. Talent on offense is a plenty in Vancouver and Cody is making the best of his opportunity. As he grows more accustomed to the NHL game, he'll only put up more points.

With Jeff Carter out of the line-up, again, Vinny Prospal will be be relied on more. The first line left wing already has 30 points this season and is only owned in 59.3% of ESPN leagues which should be closer to 100%. If for some reason he's still available, snatch him up.

He's only got 1 goal this season, but it'll only get better for Kyle Turris who finds himself centering Daniel Alfredsson which is notable because of Alfie's great season and Kyle just has to get the puck in his general direction and good things will happen.

Andrej Meszaros is going to see a nice boost in minutes and points after Chris Pronger went down. I previously mentioned to keep tabs on Kimmo Timonen and Matt Carle, but lets not forget about Andrej. Solid upside, with previous 35+ point seasons looks like a pickup to me.

If you need a temporary goalie replacement look no further than Jonas Gustavsson. He's the "starting goalie" for the Leafs right at this moment and looks like make his 4th straight start on Tuesday. 3 straight wins, including a shut-out in there makes Jonas a solid pickup for the time being.
