I looked around for a comprehensive list of September call-ups, but couldn't find one. Anybody run across something like this? Here are your fantasy baseball links for today:
Plouffe and Freese: Waiver Wire | FanGraphs Fantasy Baseball
If you’ve grabbed him for your bench and really want to pick and choose the games for which you start him, Freese has hit .369/.411/.554 in 73 PAs against lefties so far, while hitting .280/.328/.402 against righties. Generally speaking, playing Freese only against left handed pitching seems like overmanaging; his line against right-handers may be lower, but it isn’t objectively bad. Better to take both sides of the coin than to lose out on some of Freese’s production.
Forget Me/Forget Me Not: Is Anibal Sanchez On The Cusp Of Superstardom? | Rotoprofessor
If [Sanchez] can get his control in order the results should put him among the elite in the game. Clearly he’s not there yet, though the potential is there to develop into it before long. He is not going to be high on fantasy owner’s minds come 2012, making him a potential steal on draft day. As for the remainder of 2011, he’s not necessarily a great option, but a usable one in all formats.

H2H Playoff Strategies | FanGraphs Fantasy Baseball
Great stuff. Above all, I play by these maxims:
(1)"You play to win the game." (Mentioned in the article)
(2)"Flags fly forever." Don't be afraid to do something daring if it increases your chances to win now.
Sort of the same thing, but there's nothing wrong with reinforcing the point through redundancy.

It’s not about you | The Hardball Times
I'm not sure I agree with everything here, but I love the story about free kicks in soccer. I've gotten a ton of mileage out of that study.
Updated Catcher Rankings — September 2011 | FanGraphs Fantasy Baseball
2011 Holds Rankings: September | FanGraphs Fantasy Baseball
I understand why Clippard is #1, but he hasn't recorded a hold in quite some time, being inserted in lower leverage situations. I just dropped him for Robertson. Playoffs!
Bottom of the 9th: Holding 'Court
Closer news. I did not realize that Kimbrel's numbers were so close to Eric Gagne's Cy Young season.
Third Base Updated Rankings: September | FanGraphs Fantasy Baseball
Under The Fantasy Microscope: Stephen Strasburg | Roto Hardball
Ray had some Strasburg-related goodness in his roundup this morning. Here's some more praise of the phenom.
Rangers plan to pitch C.J. Wilson every fifth day | latimes.com
This is old news, but in light of C.J. Wilson's gem last night, here is confirmation that the Rangers will use him even more down the stretch. Good news for his owners, especially if you're in a H2H playoff situation.
Surkamp and Stewart: Deep League Waiver Wire | FanGraphs Fantasy Baseball
After taking a perfect game into the 8th inning during his last start, Stewart is now on many more fantasy radars than he was before the game. Of course, one good start doesn’t make a pitcher worth recommending. Stewart has actually posted some pretty solid skills during his rookie campaign.
Injury Report: September 7: Rickie Weeks, Stephen Strasburg, Josh Beckett & More | Rotoprofessor
MLB Injury Updates | Roto Hardball
Prospect of the Day: Maikel Cleto, RHP, St. Louis Cardinals | Minor League Ball
Pure velocity is Cleto’s best attribute: he works in the mid-90s consistently and has hit 101-102 on some radar guns. He doesn’t always know where it is going due to an inconsistent release point. His basic delivery is sound but he needs to repeat it more efficiently, and made progress doing it this year. Tweaks made by Cardinals coaches have improved his command somewhat, as well as giving him more consistent peak velocity.
Fantasy Baseball Player Prospecting: Alex Liddi, Wilin Rosario, Drew Pomeranz, Liam Hendriks | KFFL.com
Will Wilin Rosario usurp any of Colorado's backstops for 2011? Also, Seattle welcomes its newest baseball bambino.
The Limits Of War or Ben Zobrist Isn't Really A Superstar? | Baseball Nation
Fascinating discussion, if you're into that sort of thing. I especially think criticisms of UZR are completely valid, but that doesn't mean that we should throw the baby out with the bathwater.
