Note: I am on vacation beginning today, so my posting will be sporadic at best. I will do my best to post some MLB Trade Rumor posts as news arises. Jason has volunteered to post some of the daily Roundup posts.

ESPN's Keith Law held a chat on Thursday covering prospects and trade rumors, so here are some excerpts:

Eric (Houston, TX)

How about Teheran, Delgado and Salcedo for Hunter Pence?

Klaw
  (2:04 PM)

I think Houston would take that. Well, I would take that if I were their GM; the actual GM would probably insist they take out Teheran and Salcedo and add two relievers instead.

I proposed the Braves should deal Arodys Vizcaino, Mike Minor and Matt Lipka for Pence. Very similar offers.

Andrew (San Diego, CA)

What kind of haul do you think the padres can get for Bell and Adams? Someone like Grandal or Profar?

Klaw
  (2:13 PM)

I can't imagine the Rangers would give up Profar for any reliever. Grandal might be in play because he hasn't received that well this year and they have a surplus at catcher, but even so for a reliever that's steep.

I agree. They will lose 90 games with or without Bell or Adams, so why not see what kind of prospect package you can get for either or both relievers.

More excerpts after the jump:

Matt Latos--what happened? Was he overworked last year? Or is there an underlying injury?

Klaw
  (2:33 PM)

I assume there's an underlying injury.

It would not surprise me if Latos was actually pitching injured, but why would the Padres allow this since they are nowhere near a wildcard race? Shut him down if he is hurt.

Steve (NYC)

Thoughts on Middlebrooks? His breakout for real? Can he be an above average everyday third baseman?

Klaw
  (2:33 PM)

Very real. Projects as an above-avg third baseman.

This is the guy I want the Dodgers to trade for should Hiroki Kuroda approve a deal to Boston, assuming the Red Sox are interested. Dodgers GM Ned Colletti mentioned on First Pitch on Friday that the Dodgers are looking for corner infield and catching prospects in any deals this season.

Nick (Seattle)

Taijuan Walker made a huge jump up your list and he is the youngest pitcher in his league. If he keeps improving his secondary pitches, where could we see him on your list next year at this time?

Klaw
  (2:44 PM)

He could easily be top 25 this winter and top 10 in a year. Every single scout I've talked to who's seen him this year has said, one way or another, "Wow."

Those of you in keeper/dynasty leagues take note. An 18 year old in the Top 25 or Top 10 says alot. How is it that Seattle has so many excellent pitching prospects.

Erich (CT)

Do people realize that Ryan Howard has an OPS under .800?

Klaw
  (3:21 PM)

Can't wait till that contract extension kicks in!

Wow. Really? Here is is HR trend since 48-45-31 and 18 so far this season. Some argued that Howard was hurt last year resutiing in the drop in home runs to 31. What is the excuse this season?
