With no Minor League Monitor post this morning, I figured I would post some excerpts from the recent Keith Law chat.
Me Morse (Me Ask Question)
Me hit ball to very long way. Am me not this good, or just late bloomer?
Klaw (2:17 PM)
Cookie Morsester? Power is real, average isn't. Nice complementary player, not a star or even an average regular.
I wrote a piece on Morse on Saturday and Fake Teams readers think he can keep up his hot hitting for the rest of the season.

Mark Cuban buying the Dodgers: good idea/bad idea?
Klaw (2:17 PM)
Good idea for the Dodgers. Great idea for MLB. Maybe not a great idea for Cuban, depending on how much control MLB can wrest from the Parking Lot Bandit.
I think Cuban buying the Dodgers would be a dream come true for Dodgers fans. I approve.
More KLaw excerpts after the jump:

Can you please let the Astros know that the only way they will be good anytime in the next 5 or 6 years is that they need to trade everybody with any value. Don't keep Pence because he is the "face of the franchise", that means nothing, especially when the franchise is as bad as Houston.
Klaw (2:29 PM)
Well, they tried that with guys like Oswalt and Berkman and got very little in return.
The Astros won't win with him, so why not deal him and get as much back as possible?
Gus (Boston)
Expectation/prediction for Harvey now that he's been promoted to AA? Should we expect a dip in his numbers now that he's facing better competition?
Klaw (2:38 PM)
I don't think I'd predict a dip, but a lack of a dip would tell us a lot about his future. It's front-line stuff, at least, but dominating high-A hitters for a 22-yo ACC product isn't a great feat - you can do that and still project as a 4th starter.
Harvey was promoted to AA Binghamton last week, and gave up 4 runs in 4+ innings last night, giving up 9 hits, 2 walks and striking out 4.

Does Dodger prospect Nathan Eovaldi project as a starter or reliever? Thoughts on his potential?
Klaw (3:13 PM)
Starter. He's come on suddenly this year - not out of nowhere, but a major leap in performance in one year.
And I wouldn't be surprised to see him up in the big leagues this season, or at least promoted to AAA as he has pitched very well this year in AA. He is 6-4 with a 2.56 ERA, 1.095 WHIP and a 77-24 K/BB rate in 70+ innings. Dodgers front office types were in atttendance to see him pitch last week.
