Dustin Ackley was known as "The guy taken after Strasburg" even though he himself had a stellar college career. Entering pro ball there were tons of questions surrounding him and whether he could live up to his high draft pick. He got off to a slow start in his first pro season and many around the baseball world wrote him off. In 2011 he got off to another slow start, doing little to silence his critics. Then one month into the season he caught fire, hitting for power and average to add to his already established plate discipline. Now barely 2 years after being drafted he is in the major leagues and just may be as good as advertised. In 200 minor league games he has a triple slash of .280/.387/.435 with 17 stolen bases in 23 tries. The numbers are solid but the power and speed are not elite and require a bit more in standard 5X5 roto. That's not to say he doesn't have any speed or power but he may have a peak of 12-15 home runs and stolen bases. If he can develop 20+ home run power he would become one of the best fantasy second basemen in the game. Ackley has been a hard player to get a handle on due to his streaky nature and mixed results. So I ask you, how confident are you that Ackley can become a top 5 second baseman in standard 5X5?
