Braves starter Tommy Hanson was scratched from his start Friday with a sore shoulder. He will be examined over the next few days before a decision is made to place him on the DL or not. Hanson is coming off his best start of the season where he struck out 14 batters. For the season he is 8-4 with a 2.48 ERA and 3.06 xFIP. He owns a 89-30 K/BB rate with a 1.03 WHIP.
Hanson will be replaced in the Braves rotation with AA starter Randall Delgado. Delgado was 4-4 in 13 AA starts with a 3.54 ERA and 3.70 FIP. He has struck out 54 and walked 26 in 73+ innings this season. Without looking I assume that top prospect Julio Teheran made his AAA start within the last few days, otherwise he probably would have received the callup.
Delgado is a must grab in keeper leagues and deeper mixed leagues. In shallower leagues, I would probably hold off on picking him up.
