Revans wrote a fanpost yesterday providing some background behind the rise of Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautitsta, and concluded that fantasy owners know nothing. And regarding Bautista, he is right. No one could have predicted his 2010 season, even after looking at his 10 homer September from the 2009 season. Bautista will probably be a case study in the very near future on what to look for in sleepers, breakouts, etc. But what many did not know is that he would become the best hitter in baseball after floundering for several years, and getting waived by the Pirates.
Jose Bautista is proving to all of his critics, including me, that he is the best hitter in baseball right now, and those who drafted him this year can't thank him enough. He went 3-4 with 2 HRs, 2 runs, 4 RBIs and a SB on Saturday, and for the season is hitting .364-.509-.841 with 18 HRs, 31 RBIs and 5 SBs. He is by far the best fantasy hitter this year. His OPS of 1.350 is absurd.
Some amazing stats for Bautista:
Folks, we are seeing another amazing season from Bautista. The unlikliest best hitter ever?
