Last week, we saw the best first base prospect in the game, Eric Hosmer, get called up after just a small sample size of at bats in AAA this year. Then on Saturday, we saw Braves call up the best pitching prospect in the game, Julio Teheran to make a spot start in Philadelphia on Saturday night. We have also seen prospects Ben Revere, Alex White, and Jose Iglesias get called up recently. That got me thinking about which prospect will be called up next. Here is a list of guys that I think should see time in the big leagues in the next month or so.
1. Anthony Rizzo, SD
2. Desmond Jennings, TB
3. Domonic Brown, PHI
4. Mike Moustakas, KC
5. Jason Kipnis, CLE
6. Lonnie Chisenhall, CLE
7. Jesus Montero, NYY
8. Dustin Ackley, SEA
9. Mike Miontgomery, KC
10. Brett Lawrie, TOR
11. Jordan Lyles, HOU
12. Devin Mesoraco, CIN
13. Brandon Belt, SF
14. Mike Minor, ATL
15. Manny Banuelos, NYY
I think guys like Brandon Belt and Anthony Rizzo could get calliups by the end of May/early June with the way they are hitting in AAA thus far. Phillies outfield prospect Domonic Brown is another, as he appears over his offseason and spring training struggles at the the plate. Mariners second base prospect Dustin Ackley will more than likely get the call as well, even though he has struggled in AAA up to this point.
Which prospect will get called up first?
