Fake Teams Fantasy Player of the Day: Royals Third Baseman Mike Aviles

Kenny wrote an artilcle about Royals hitter Wilson Betemit on Saturday morning. Well, I hear Mike Aviles was not happy with Kenny after reading that article, so he went out and had a big day on Easter Sunday. Aviles went 3-5 with two home runs, 2 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. He tossed in a SB as well.

Aviles is hitting just ,237-.271-.527 with 3 HRs, 14 RBIs and 4 SBs this season after hitting .304-.335-.413 with 8 HRs, 32 RBIs and 14 SBs in 2010. Aviles doesn't walk alot, and struck out only 12% of his at bats last year, but that has increased to 22% this year, so he will have to address that if he wants to see more playing time. Aviles BABIP is just .231 down from .321 in 2010, so he does have a good chance to increase his triple slash line with a bit more luck this year.

Aviles is owned in only 11.6% of ESPN leagues, and could see an increase in his ownership rate after this game.
