Yeah, I am higher on Posey and Santana than others, but have confidence they both will hit for good power and a solid BA. The AL has several guys in Jesus Montero and J.P. Arencibia who could break out this year.
I think Santana is #1 in the AL due to his power advantage over Mauer, he can match Mauer in the RBI category and he can hit for a very good average as well. Napoli has a shot to lead all catchers in HRs should he get full time at bats in Texas.
You can see that I included Jesus Montero in the rankings, as it appears he could get a shot to start if Russell Martin starts the season on the disabled list. I am down on Martin and don't think he will produce enough to be ranked in the top 12 in the AL.
Geovany Soto has a shot to get 500 at bats this season. I remember buying his breakout 2008 season and drafted him in the 4th round of one of my NL-only leagues. That didn't turn out so well for me. Miguel Montero could battle for the #3 spot in the NL hitting in Arizona's hitter friendly Chase Field.
