Carl Hagelin - New York Rangers

Here's an interesting story. Hagelin born in Sweden, played his junior hockey in the college ranks. Out of the University of Michigan the 1988 born is not taking much time adjusting to the pro game. Thanks to a good start in the AHL he's been called up and has 4 points in 4 games. Keep an eye on him.

Simon Despres - Pittsburgh Penguins

Recently called up because of the depleted back-end on the Pens roster, Simon just played his first NHL game and recorded a point. A highly touted potential top 2 defenceman coming out of juniors, struggled in training camp to find a spot. He will probably be sent back down but it's worth keeping an eye out on this blue chipper.

Joey Crabb - Toronto Maple Leafs

3 goals in 4 games will get noticed by me, and that's exactly what Crabb has done. Take a closer look, who are his linemates? It's Nikolai Kulemin & Mikhail Grabovski - two pretty good offensive players, if Joey continues to feed off these guys who could be a legitimate pickup in now time.

Nick Johnson - Minnesota Wild

What a story the Wild have been this season, flirting with tops in the entire league. When teams perform like the Wild have there are players responsible for it. One player who I'm starting to notice is Nick Johnson. Sure 3 points in 3 games isn't mind blowing, but he's put up decent numbers in the minors and college ranks in the past.

Anders Lindback - Nashville Predators

Lindback's situation reminds me a lot of what Tuukka Rask is going through in Boston. They're behind true number one goalies who are being paid to be starters. Anders is a beast in net and any NHL team thinking they're going to get an easier night just because Nashville's back up is in is wrong. Stash this guy on your keeper team.
