Fantasy Hockey 2011: Saturday Starting Backup Goalies

This weekly article informs you of any backup goaltenders who are starting today so you don't have to worry about getting goose eggs in your goalie stats if other options are available.

Martin Biron, Rangers vs. Jhonas Enroth, Sabres - Biron's has a decent career record against the Sabres but he's been playing very well with the Rangers. Of course, by now everyone's aware of Enroth and he's done quite well against the Rangers in two starts in his career. As much as Biron's played well this season, I like Enroth in this matchup.

Brian Elliott, Blues vs. Sharks - Elliott has been playing quite well splitting duties with Jaroslav Halak and he has a good career record against the Sharks. With both teams playing hot lately, it should be a good challenge for Elliott.

Dan Ellis, Ducks vs. Predators - Two words. Ug. Ly. Not only is Ellis struggling, the Ducks are still struggling. Avoid.

Richard Bachman, Stars vs. Jonathan Bernier, Kings - Bachman has never faced the Kings but since the Kings are struggling alittle, it's a good opportunity to see what he can do. Not saying play him if you have him but just watch. Bernier has done a good job against the Stars but all in all, both are risky plays for this matchup.

Well that was unexpected. There's no other backup goalies starting aside from the ones already mentioned above. In any case, best of luck to everyone tonight! This will likely get updated later on today so check back! Be sure to follow us on Twitter at @FakeTeams, @MattPTurner and @StephenKaczmar!
