In most leagues, we only have four regular season games remaining. It's crunch time and if you've made it this far, then you'll want to make only perfect, error-free decisions from this point forward in order to set yourself up for a championship.
Recently, I've been dreaming about fantasy football. Literally, I wake myself up because I'm having crazy vivid dreams about what my team is doing. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I tend to lean towards "bad." I mean, if you are here, then you probably know where I am coming from and can relate, but this has by far been my most stressful fantasy season to date and I've been doing this for a long time.
As long as I've been doing this, this is my first year playing for money. I've potentially got something like $1500-$1700 of potential winnings waiting for me in December/January, and I can't help but imagine what that could do for me. But, as a person who has also been a pretty serious poker player for 10 years, I also know that you shouldn't risk what you can't lose.
Winning isn't everything. If you did absolutely your best, then you have nothing to be ashamed of. We can't help it if a player gets hurt or doesn't perform. I've planned as best as I could, and I still am in 3rd and 7th place in my money leagues. The difference between me being in 7th and 2nd is 3.5 points. Thems are the breaks.
This week I had Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, and Jahvid Best on a bye (though Best probably would not have played) and Mark Ingram injured. I've been planning this loss all season. What happened? With help from Ben Tate, I managed to outscore the lowest scoring team of the week and get a victory. Again, thems are the breaks.
I want to open up this forum as a place to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Rather than wait until only the end of the week, if we get something started today, there's still a chance to pull off a trade to be ready by week 10. What are some strategies you are considering? Personally, I see a team playing the two teams ahead of me the next two weeks and I'm thinking of actually offering her a trade that will just help her win. Do what you gotta do.
Let's rap...
