Fantasy Hockey 2011: Saturday Starting Backup Goalies

Here's your up-to-day backup goalies info on who have been verified as starting today so you can be able to adjust your lineups accordingly and perhaps make a nifty pickup for those in same-day transaction leagues.

Sergei Bobrovsky, Flyers vs. Jets - He's won games against the Jets/Thrashers franchise but his averages aren't that terribly great. Not a good recommendation since the Jets are playing hot lately, too.

Rick DiPietro, Islanders vs. Bruins - He's had a good track record against the Bruins but now with Evgeni Nabokov out for at least a month with an injury and Al Montoya sore, it sounds like DiPietro is the top dog for the time being.

Martin Biron, Rangers vs. Canadians - Biron has a very good record against the Habs and is well worth a pickup in same-day transaction leagues.

Curtis Sanford, Blue Jackets vs. Predators - He has a decent track record against the Preds but with the way the Blue Jackets have been playing, I wouldn't rely on Sanford too much.

Andrew Raycroft, Stars vs. Sharks - The Stars need a win soon but it doesn't sound too pretty when Raycroft is in net and he doesn't have a good record against them. Avoid.

Josh Harding, Wild vs. Blues - He has a very good track record against the Blues. He should already be owned by Backstrom owners but he's worth the pick-up and spot start.

UPDATE

Brent Johnson, Penguins vs. Panthers - A good track record against the Panthers in his career.

UNCONFIRMED

Ray Emery, Blackhawks vs. Oilers - This in unconfirmed but there are suggestions that Emery may play his second game in a back-to-back run and will also play the Oilers for the first time in his career.

This will likely get updated in another hour or so, so make sure to check back later to see if anymore backups are starting tonight. Also, don't forget to follow @FakeTeams, @MattPTurner and @StephenKaczmar on Twitter if you have any fantasy hockey questions!
