Fantasy Football 2011: Week 8 Tight End Rankings

Jimmy Graham is nearly unstoppable at this juncture of the season. He is sixth in the entire NFL in receiving yards and yards per game as well as being tied for 3rd in touchdown catches with 5! Check out the receiving statistics and Graham's NFL Rank amongst Tight Ends to show just how truly valuable he's been:

66 Targets - 1st

45 Catches - 1st

674 receiving yards - 1st

5 touchdowns - 1st (Tied)

38 First Downs - 1st

11 catches for 20+ yards - 1st

As you can see, Graham has been the steal of the 2011 Fantasy Draft. It's like having a WR1 slotted in your TE position. Not to take anything from the vastly improving TE Position, but Graham has been the most valuable TE by an extremely large margin and will likely finish the year strongly as the TE1. He is simply unguardable. Congrats to you if you roster him this season. For those of you who are not as fortunate, we have many other valuable TE's to rank this week.

The Panthers' Greg Olsen only catches one pass for 4 yards in win over Redskins. FLUKE. Olsen was coming off a nice 4 run stretch of 20 catches for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns as Cam Newton's #2 target in the passing game until Olsen encountered turf toe. He was limited in the Redskins game with the issue, thus appearing as a blip in the box score. Olsen will get healthy after the bye week (Week 9) and will be back to top-12 TE status.

Jared Cook scores the Titans' only touchdown in embarrassing loss to the Texans. FACT. With defenses keying in on Nate Washington as the Titans' # 1 Wide Receiver and the Ghost of Chris Johnson trying to run out of the backfield, Cook has been targeted more over the pass 3 games resulting in touchdowns in 2 of the 3. Boy, do the Titans really miss Kenny Britt. Cook will be streaky, but he's athletic and talented and tends to line up wide. I like him as a bye-week guy.
