Fantasy Football 2011: Week 7 Tight End Rankings

Lots of questions in the Tight End world going into week 7:

Will Antonio Gates finally return this week? Possibly.

Will Jermichel Finley have another good game this season? Most definitely, yes.

Will Jimmy Graham play this week despite not practicing Thursday? Maybe. Check back here for updates.

Will Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez play this week? No. Can they please, despite being on bye this week? I'm sorry. Still no.

Facts/Flukes and Ranks After the Jump.

The Redskins' Fred Davis leads the team with 6 catches and 95 yards in an ugly Rex Grossman-led game. FACT. Despite Grossman's constant miscues, Davis was still heavily targeted. John Beck continued to look Davis' way when he replaced Sexy Rexy. Davis is back, baby! Along with Santana Moss, he'll continue to be the focal point of the passing game. Chris Cooley's injuries prove that fact further.

In a win over Washington, the Eagles' Brent Celek scores a touchdown to go with 4 catches. FLUKE. I'm not buying a sudden Celek resurgence in the passing game. Celek has been used mostly as a blocker so far this year and hasn't lived up to his break-out season from 2 years ago. I'd like to see more.

New England's Aaron Hernandez leads the Patriots' receivers with 8 catches in close win over Cowboys. FACT. The athletic TE from Florida has become Brady's # 2 Receiver since his return from injury. The pecking order in the Pats' game is essentially this: Wes Welker, Aaron Hernandez, Rob Gronkowski, Deion Branch, everyone else. With defenses keying in on Gronk, Hernandez has come back in a big way. I think he ends the year as a top-10 TE at the very least.
