Here are some recent thoughts from some of the prospect experts such as John Sickels, Keith Law, Kevin Goldstein and Jim Callis.
Kevin Goldstein
And Goldstein rated Rosario as a 5 star prospect in his Rockies Top 11 on Tuesday. Surprising to say the least. I like Rosario, but have to say I am surprised he was given a 5 star ranking by KG.
Blackmon will move up to Triple-A Colorado Springs in 2011 and could line himself up for a September look.
Blackmon hit .297-.360-.484 with 11 HRs, 55 RBIs, 19 SBs and a solid 43-32 K/BB rate in 337 ABs in AA in 2010. He stole 30 bases in 2009 in High A as well.
Jim Callis
And progresses as a C? Top 10. @hopjake: If Gary Sanchez destroys Low A how high could he get in top 100 prospect lists? #Yankees
Does this mean the Yankees could have two hitters in the Top 10 in 2012 who may not have a position?
Don't sleep on Billy Hamilton. @tlugo007: Do you see any true All-Star caliber players in the #Reds farm system?
Hamilton is growing on me and will be considered come UBA minor league draft in April.
More after the jump:
How often does a prospect gets ranked No. 1 after just his first full pro season? Why so much love for Angels outfielder Mike Trout, who's just a kid? I know the upside is incredible, but come on, he spent most of the year in low Class A.
Dionisio Belliard
Santo Domingo, D.R.Baseball America hasn't settled on the No. 1 prospect for our 2011 Top 100 Prospects list yet. I ranked Trout No. 1 on my personal Top 50 in the 2011 Prospect Handbook, but Will Lingo and John Manuel both went with Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper—who's younger than Trout and hasn't played a professional game.
Trout will make the majors before Harper, but wonder if Harper isn't too far behind him.
Keith Law
@rsanderson78 Love Mauer but I doubt he plays even 400 more games behind the plate.
Wow. That would hurt Mauer's fantasy value in a big way. Is he James Loney with a higher BA if moved to 1B?
