I was reading Rob Neyer's chat over on ESPN during lunch today and came across this question:

Rob, what kind of player do you think Drew Stubbs can be? Someone posed the question to me recently (I'm a Reds fan) asking if I'd take Matt Kemp for Stubbs straight up. I said I would, but I definitely had to think about it. Your thoughts?Rob Neyer

I would have to think about it, too. I'm intrigued by Stubbs' power/speed combination, but I don't know enough about his defense and I'd like to see him get on base more often. A *lot* more often.
It's an interesting question as Kemp has underperformed this season, and Stubbs has a 20-20 season under his belt in his first full major league season.
Here is a look at their stats:
Name | AB | 2B | 3B | HR | R | RBI | BB | SO | SB | CS | AVG |
Matt Kemp | 562 | 24 | 6 | 23 | 75 | 77 | 50 | 156 | 19 | 15 | 0.251 |
Drew Stubbs | 484 | 18 | 5 | 20 | 84 | 72 | 48 | 159 | 25 | 6 | 0.250 |
It's rather amazing how similar their stats are this season. Who would you rather have in 2011?
