Great matchup in San Francisco yesterday, with Ubaldo Jimenez scheduled to face the reigning Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum. Lincecum was not unfortunately pitching all that well, walking 5 in 5 innings en route to the defeat. Meanwhile, Jimenez continued his march toward the Cy Young, winning his 10th game before the end of May and throwing another shutout. For the season, he has now lowered his ERA to 0.78 and his WHIP to 0.90. Clearly, Jimenez is well on his way to what could be one of the best pitching seasons anyone has ever seen.
