MLB.com is reporting that the Cubs will promote Andrew Cashner on Monday to help out in their bullpen. Cashner has dominated in AA and AAA this season, going 6-1 with a 2.05 ERA, a 0.947 WHIP, and a 59/15 strikeout to walk ratio.
He has been especially dominating in AAA where he pitched in 5 games, two of which were in relief. He was 3-0 in those 5 games, with a 17-2 K/BB ratio, a 0.86 ERA and 0.90 WHIP.
Fantasy owners in keeper leagues should pick him up as he could be in the Cubs rotation in 2011.
