Down On The Farm: John Sickels Top 20 Detroit Tigers Prospects, Derek Norris Update and More

I posted my Top Fantasy Shortstop Prospects over at Minor League Ball on Wednesday, so take a look when you get a moment.

John Sickels posted his Top 20 Detroit Tigers Prospects for 2011 and here is what he said about Nick Castellanos:

2) Nick Castellanos, 3B, Grade B: Want to see what his batting average and OBP look like in addition to his power.

Castellanos hit .333-.414-.417 with 3 RBIs in 24 at bats in his limited exposure to Rookie league.

Baseball America published their Top 10 Washington Nationals prospects for 2011, and here is a Q & A from the afternoon chat over at BA, discussing catching prospect Derek Norris:

Jay (South Riding, VA): What would you project as offensive numbers for Ramos & Norris when they reach the majors?

Aaron Fitt: Norris strikes me as a .280-.300 hitter with tons of walks, 20-25 homers and plenty of doubles. He's got a really nice, compact swing, and I think he's got a chance to hit for some average in time, as well as power. Ramos, I think, is more of a .240-.250 hitter with 10-15 homers. His value really lies in his defense.

Wow....Norris sounds like Brian McCann to me.
