MLB Trade Rumors: Mike Napoli To The Rockies?

The Rockies appear close t non-tendering catcher Miguel Olivo, who may be heaed to Florida, and last night Troy Renck from the Denver Post tweeted that the Rockies have interest in Angels catcher Mike Napoli:

As for catcher, I was told by a couple of sources that John Buck not on Rockies' radar. I know for fact that they like Napoli

As a Dodgers fan, I hope the Dodgers have interest in Buck to replace Russell Martin, who more than likely will be non-tendered this offseason. But, with Napoli, the Rockies would have another right-handed power bat to complement Carlos Gonzalez, Troy Tulowitzki, Seth Smith, Todd Helton and ian Stewart. Napoli can catch, and also spell Todd Helton at first base, or play first base in a platoon with Helton.

Napoli hit just .238-.316-.468 with 26 HRs and 68 RBIs in 2010, and has hit 20 or more HRs in each of the last 3 seasons in Los Angeles. Napoli strikes out a ton-at a 30% clip in 2010, but he also walks a fair amount-8% in 2010. Napoli would be one of the top 5 catchers drafted in fantasy leagues in 2011 should he land in Colorado, and we could see a slight boost in his power numbers.
