Is it me or does every deal Theo Epstein makes always made to be a "smart" deal. Epstein traded for Marlins pitcher Andrew Miller, a former first round pick. This deal was praised by several baseball writers, but I have to agree with Kevin Goldstein from Baseball Prospectus on this deal:
Love how Andrew Miller was mechanically broken mess w/#Marlins, yet trade to #RedSox makes him a diamond in the rough. #FoolYouTwice
I remember Epstein signing Brad Penny and John Smoltz a few seasons ago, and was praised up and down for those deals. How did they turn out?
