Fantasy Baseball: George Sherrill Earns Save for Dodgers

Last Monday, I posted an article stating that the Dodgers may turn to recently acquired George Sherrill as their closer, after Jonathan Broxton had blown 3 saves in the prior week. Yesterday, manager Joe Torre turned to Broxton to pitch to the middle of the Cubs lineup in the 8th inning, with great success. He then turned to George Sherrill to close out the game in the 9th.

A few days ago, Broxton complained of being tired. Not a tired arm. Just tired. So Torre called him out in a big spot. Well, not a real big spot. He pitched the 8th inning, instead of the 9th, to pitch to the Cubs 3-4-5 hitters.

This situation bears watching still. We should have our answer to the Dodgers closer situation as soon as today.
