Sunday's Roto Round Up: Tommy Hanson Gives Up 6 Runs, Justin Upton Injures Shoulder

SP, Joba Chamberlain, NYY-Chamberlain gave up 3 runs on 5 hits and a walk, and only struck out 4. Since he struck out 12 Red Sox on May 5th, Joba hasn't struck out more than 6 batters in any of his 6 starts. In those 6 starts, he has a 26-13 K-BB ratio. I think roto owners expected more K's from Joba.

SP, Tommy Hanson, ATL-Hanson's major league debut did not go so well. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 runs on 6 hits, and 3 HRs. What he did do well was strikeout 6 and walk only 1. He will need to keep his HR totals down going forward.

SP, Roy Halladay, TOR-Halladay won his 10th game of the season by throwing a complete game shutout over the Royals. He gave up 7 hits and struck out 6. If he keeps pitching like this, we should just hand him the Cy Young award before the end of the season.

SP, Livan Hernandez, NYM-Hernandez won his 5th game of the season, shutting out the Nationals for 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 4 walks in the process. He lowered his ERA to 3.88. Who would have thought he would be the Mets 2nd best pitcher behind Johan Santana at the start of the season? I have a feeling he may be available in some NL only leagues.

OF, Andrew McCutchen, PIT-McCutchen went 3 for 5 and drove in a run vs the Astros. He is hitting .333 with 4 RBI in his first 4 games with the Buccos. Nate McLouth has 2 hits in 11 ABs with the Braves.

MR, Manny Corpas, COL-facing the middle of the Cardinals order in the 9th of a 7-2 games, Corpas gave up one hit, but induced 2 ground ball outs and an infield pop-up to 2nd by Albert Pujols. Corpas could regain the Rockies closer job when Huston Street is traded.

OF, Justin Upton, ARI-Upton injured his shoulder on a swing in the 10th inning vs the Padres. Roto owners will have to wait till later today to hear if he needs a DL stint.

OF, Aaron Rowand, SF-maybe I haven't bothered to check the Giant boxscores lately, but Rowand batted leadoff today and had two hits. Rowand has been hot of late, but  don't the Giants have a better candidate to leadoff?

CL, Chad Qualls, ARI-Qualls came in to clean up the mess left by Juan Gutierrez, and proceeded to give up a 3 run, game-tying HR to David Eckstein. DAVID ECKSTEIN!! Qualls may need a DL stint because the Eck rarely hits homeruns.
