Thursday's Roto Roundup: Ricky Nolasco Dominates Red Sox, K-Rod Blows Save

SP, Ricky Nolasco,  FLA-Nolasco allowed one hit and one run in a rain-shortened win over the Red Sox. Nolasco struck out 5 and walked none. He appears to have regained his confidence, and is rosterable in NL-only and mixed leagues.

CL, Francisco Rodriguez, NYM-KRod entered the 9th and allowed two runs, including a double to Matt Wieters to lead off the 9th. He walked the tying run in and allowed a single to Aubrey Huff to lose it.

CL, Chad Qualls, ARI-Qualls pitched the the 9th inning in a 12-2 game and proceeded to give up 3 runs on 3 hits. He has given up runs in  3 of his last 5 outings, and his ERA now sits at 4.72.

OF, Chris Young, ARI-Young went 4 for 4 with a walk and a SB in the Diamondbacks 12-5 win over the Royals. He is still only hitting .204 and I wonder how many ABs he would be getting if Eric Byrnes was hitting well.

SP, Craig Stammen, WAS-Stammen shutout the Yankees on 6 hits for 6+ innings on Thursday fgr his first major league win, outdueling Joba Chamberlain.

SP, Nick  Blackburn, MIN-Blackburn won his 6th game of the season throwing a complete game vs the Pirates. Blackburn struck out only 2, but induced 15 groundball outs.

SP, Brandon Webb, ARI-Webb had to cut short his first opportunity to throw off a mound since going on the DL with pain in his pitching shoulder. Tough news for roto owners looking for him to return after the All-Star game.
