Saturday's Roto Round Up: Torii Hunter Hits 3 Bombs

SP, Manny Parra, MIL-Parra didn't make it out of the 2nd inning yesterday against the White Sox. He gave up 6 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks. Could they deal Corey Hart for a starting pitcher? The Brewers may be ready to deal as Parra is expected to be sent down to AAA on Sunday.

OF, Corey Hart, MIL-things are so bad for Hart that manager Ken Macha had him batting 7th yesterday. Hart is hitting 6-26-4-.251 with a 58/20 K/BB ratio.

SP, Anthony Swarzak, MIN-Swarzak held the Cubs scoreless for 7 innings giving up only 4 hits, a walk and striking out 6. Swarzak had a 12/9 K/BB ratio coming into the game. The Cubs lineup has had a fall similar to the Dow before the rally over the last two months.

SP, Jose Contreras, CHW-Contreras apparently benefitted from being sent down to the minors, as he has been lights out since being returning to the White Sox rotation. He shutout the Tigers for 8 innings on 1 hit in his last outing, and held the Brewers 2 hits over 8  innings on Saturday. He struck out 8 and walked 2.

OF, Torii, Hunter-Hunter hit 3 solo HRs on Saturday vs the Padres. He now has 16 HR, 49 RBI, and a .321 Avg.

SP, Zack Duke, PIT-Duke hedl the Tigers to 3 runs on 6 hits in 8 innings of work on Saturday to earn his 7th win of the season. He lowered his ERA to 3.10. Is this guy for real? I recently got offered Duke for Andre Ethier?

SP, Jason Marquis, COL-Marquis held the Mariners to 1 run in 7 innings of work. He walked 3 and struck out 2, but lowered his ERA ot 3.77.

OF, Matt Kemp, LAD-for some unknown reason Kemp batted 9th in the LA lineup on Saturday and responded with 2 hits, 2 RBI and his 8th HR of the season. He is hitting .309 for the season. There will come a time when he bats 3rd in the Dodgers lineup, but that may not happen under Joe Torre.

OF, Andruw Jones,TEX-Jones hit his 6th HR of the season vs the Dodgers on Saturday, but his Avg. has dropped significantly since his hot April as he is hitting .248 on the season.

OF, Willy Taveras, CIN-Taveras is in one major slump as his Avg. is now down to .229 on the season. Quite a big difference from about a month ago when he was hitting .300+ with an OBP over .350+.

1B, Albert Pujols, STL-Pujols hit his 21st and 22nd HRs of the season on Saturday. Why does anyone pitch to him??
