C Matt Wieters, Baltimore Orioles: Oh-fer in his major league debut.
OF Luke Scott, Baltimore Orioles: A 3-3 night with two HRs hitting in front of Wieters. Pitchers were obviously too afraid to face Wieters. Scott's is hitting .336 with 10 HRs and 27 RBIs.
OF Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers: His 5th HR of the season mathces the five HRs Andruw Jones has hit for Texas. In a season where HRs appear to be up, Kemp's total is surprisingly low.
C Omir Santos, New York Mets: On the day the Mets dealt C Ramon Castro to the Chicago White Sox, Santos hits his 3rd HR and drives-in runs 16 and 17. With an aging and injury-prone Brien Schneider as the other catcher, I expect Santos to continue to see significant playing time. Two catcher NL-Only leagues just struck 14K gold.
RP Randy Choate, Tampa Bay Rays: The lefty specialist recorded a one-out save as manager Joe Maddon elected to remove Dan Wheeler from the save situation. Joe Mauer was 3-4 at the time. I can't say fantasy owners are all that happy. Wheeler v. Mauer or Choate v. Mauer? I think I'd still prefer the former.
SP Matt Cain, San Francisco Giants: With last night's victory, Cain is now 6-1. It seems like forever that we have waited for Cain to get enough run support/luck to get Wins. He had 8 Wins in 2008 and 7 in 2006.
