Thursday's Roto Roundup: Brett Myers To Have Hip Surgery?

Thursday's roto roundup is abbreviated as there were only 5 games played, but is highlighted by possible surgery for a Phillies starting pitcher.

SP, Brett Myers, PHI-Myers will be sent to the DL with a hip injury that may require surgery. Bad news for roto owners. The Phils could call up Carlos Carrasco or Antono Bastardo from AAA.

SP, Randy Wolf, LAD-Wolf won his 3rd game of the season striking out 7 Cubs in 7 innings. He lowered his ERA to 2.84 and has a 57/20 K/BB rate in 69 innings.

3B, Jake Fox, CHI-Fox came in to pinch hit with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning and struck out on a pitch about a foot off the plate. Even still, the Cubs offense needs a jolt right now.

C, Jason Varitek, BOS-Varitek was almost left unsigned this past offseason after his horrible 2008 season. Well, he hit 2 HRs on Thursday to raise his season total to 10. Not bad in a season with so many catchers underperforming expectations.

RP, Ramon Troncoso, LAD-Troncoso notched his 3rd save of the season after striking out two Cubs with the bases loaded. Meet the backup closer in LA.

OF, Justin Upton, ARI-Upton went 3 for 4 raising his AVG to .346. He also stole his 6th base of the season. He's the total package.
