Sunday Roto Round Up: Will Roy Halladay Catch Zach Greinke?

New, 1 comment

SP Roy Halladay, Toronto Blue Jays: An 8-1 record with a 2.78 ERA and 1.02 WHIP are not enough to make halladay the AL CY Young so far. The question is whether Zach Greinke can keep up his pace. I am convinced Halladay can.

3B Chone Figgins, Los Angeles Angels: Two more stolen bases brings Figgins' season total to 17. Much was made of Brandon Wood's move back to SS in AAA. Even with Erick Ayabr and Macier Izturis to pass, his path seems easier than trying to move Figgins off third.

3B Mat Gamel, Milwaukee Brewers: Manager Ken Macha was quoted saying Gamel was going to play. Today, Craig Counsell got the start at 3B, and Gamel didn't even pinch-hit. If he was just going to sit on the bench and acclimate before the start of intereague play next Friday, couldn't he have acclimated in just a couple days rather than a week ahead?

SP Andrew Sonnastine, Tampa Bay Rays: Hitting third thanks to a line-up snafu, Sonnanstine went 1-3 with an RBI and left just one on base. And Red Sox fans thought David Ortiz's troubles couldn't go lower.

SP Armando Galarraga, Detroit Tigers: At the end of April Galarraga was 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA. For May, he has yet to allow fewer than five earned runs in any of his four starts capped off by yesterday's .2 IP/ 5 ER fiasco. His May ERA is a bail-inducing 10.90 with a WHIP greater than 2.00.

8th Inning Set-Up: Eddie Guardado TEX (2), J.P. Howell TB (3), Jeremy Affeldt SF (7)

Saves: Brad Lidge PHI (7), Troy Percival TB (6), Darren O'Day TEX (1), Chris Sampson HOU (1), Brian Wilson SF (9)

Blown Saves: None
