Over the last few months, two of baseball's biggest stars have been caught either taking steroids, or using a drug that is used after one comes off a steroid cycle-Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez.
What I wonder is who's next? I have my suspicions about plenty of players. I am sure I am not the only one to think there are others out there who are taking PEDs, but haven't been caught yet.
To me, there is one player who's stats are far and above so much better than every other player-Albert Pujols. I wouldn't have written this post today had I not read Lance Berkman's comments in the aftermath of the Manny Ramirez news this week.
Here are his comments:
That Ramirez got caught was enough to make Astros first baseman Lance Berkman roll his eyes and wonder what's coming next. "I wasn't surprised," said Berkman. "I think anybody that makes the game look clownish is under suspicion, because it's just not that easy. It's unfortunate that here we go again, with another round of steroid questions."
I even pulled a rant out of a recent Manny article just because I think the media makes too much of what will be known as the "steroid era" in MLB. To me, it's just that, an era.
But Berkman's comments shouldn't be dismissed. Does Pujols make the game look clownish?
I wouldn't be surprised to hear Pujols name linked to PEDs. His name was on a "bogus" Mitchell Report list that was posted here and on other sites.
I still wonder if it was "bogus".
