Using the methodology put forth by Art McGee in How To Value Players For Rotisserie Baseball, here are the ranks of two of this winter's most talked about fantasy sleepers, Matt Wieters and Nelson Cruz using AL-only 4x4 format. The load of assumptions involved in this analysis rivals those needed to create and value mortgage-backed securities.
Using the PECOTA projections from Baseball Prospectus and the SGP (Standing Gain Point) from my own 4x4 keeper league, Matt Weiters ranks as the 4th best player ahead of players like Mark Teixeira, Josh Hamilton and Nick Markakis. Cruz is 16th ahead of Justin Morneau, Chris Davis, and Evan Longoria.
